Final Audio: A8000 DC: A New Flagship Begins Again

Product News

Final has unveiled the A8000 DC, a completely redesigned flagship wired IEM that revisits the foundations of the original A8000 while introducing a new generation of driver technology. The OG A8000 was revered for its ultra-low distortion, fast response and distinctive beryllium dynamic driver. Seven years on, Final has returned to the concept with everything reconsidered from the ground up, giving the A8000 the Da Capo treatment.

Introducing the True Magnesium Driver

At the heart of the A8000 DC is Final’s newly developed True Magnesium dynamic driver. Magnesium’s extremely low weight allows Final to increase diaphragm thickness without adding unnecessary mass, helping achieve the rigidity required for accurate piston-like movement.

The diaphragm also benefits from manufacturing techniques developed during the creation of the A10000 and its diamond diaphragm, alongside a specialised polyurethane surround and adhesive-free forming process. According to Final, the resulting driver achieves even lower distortion around the 10Hz region than the True Beryllium driver used in the original A8000.

Built for Long-Term Ownership

The A8000 DC uses a precisely machined stainless-steel housing finished in deep navy ion plating, with a smaller enclosure than the original A8000 for improved fit. Final has also avoided adhesive when assembling the housing and driver, instead using screw-fastened construction to make future servicing and repair easier.

A silver-coated OFC cable developed with Junkosha uses low-dielectric ePTFE insulation and Final’s high-precision MMCX connectors, terminating in a 4.4mm balanced plug. Replaceable dust filters and two complete sets of Final ear tips, FUSION-G and TYPE P, are also included.
