iFi Audio has today introduced the iCAN Phantom 1.5, an updated version of its flagship analogue headphone amplifier and stereo preamplifier. Built around iFi’s PureWave PRO fully differential balanced circuit design, it delivers up to 15,000mW of balanced output power, giving it the muscle required for demanding dynamic and planar magnetic headphones.
The iCAN Phantom 1.5 retains one of the original model’s standout features: the ability to switch in real time between solid-state and GE 5670 vacuum tube input stages. It also incorporates iFi’s Pro iESL energiser technology, with six voltage settings for electrostatic headphones, while enhanced iEMatch attenuation of up to 24dB helps accommodate highly sensitive IEMs.
For the 1.5 update, iFi has refreshed the user experience with a new dynamic VU meter display, anti-fingerprint coated top glass and a smoother buffered volume potentiometer. The Nexis App also gains additional functionality, including real-time tube health monitoring, product renaming and remote reset controls.
