Beeswax is an excellent restorative, an expensive by-product of honey production. Bees travel an estimated 150 000 miles to eat enough honey to secrete just one pound of wax. Amazingly, 100 pounds of honey produce only 1 to 2 pounds of beeswax.
Carnauba wax is sourced from one place in the world, the leaves of a palm tree growing in northeast Brazil. After the Carnauba palm leaves are collected and dried workers beat them to loosen the wax then refine it into the finished product.
